Best of the Web: Equestrian Education

Welcome to the very first post of this miniseries! In this series I will be finding the best websites, programs, apps, etc. when it comes to learning about and caring for our horses. To launch off this miniseries I am starting with my favorite places on the web when I want riding help or have a quick question on how to care for my horse.

EquestrianCoach.com

This is my go-to website when I have any questions about riding. This website was started by Bernie Traurig, a living legend! There are countless videos organized by topic and are beyond helpful. There are videos covering common issues and how to fix them. If you have a question about your riding, there is a video covering it. Seriously, this site has brought my riding to a new level. I was fortunate enough to attend a week long workshop with Bernie in San Marcos, CA and it was the most educational week in my life! The videos and topics are phenomenal and I don't know what I would do about this site. You can view a handful of videos for free, but I highly recommend becoming a member to get the full inside scoop! I am now a lifetime member, and I highly recommend you look into being one too, it's totally worth the investment!

USEF Learning Center

The USEF Learning Center covers a variety of topics from horse care to discipline specific videos from top riders and influencers. The videos are incredibly high quality and packed full of helpful information. There are a handful of videos for free for each topic, but of you are a USEF member, you have access to all of the videos. These videos are super unique and cover topics not often discussed. No matter your discipline or interests, there is a video for you!

Dressage Today

Don't have access to a world class trainer? Now you do! This website has countless articles, videos, and a podcast covering training topics from leading riders. There is content covering care for competition horses, rider wellness, theory, instruction, and equestrian lifestyle. If you can think of it, they have it! Not a dressage rider? That's fine! This site has information that is applicable for every discipline and every level. One of the best things about this website is most of it is free! You will need a membership to access most of the videos on demand, but there is still countless content available with no cost!

This is a great website if you are looking to keep up with current events and learn about a variety of topics that cover stories, ideas, podcasts, and info from the pros! This site goes a wonderful job connecting the equestrian community at no cost. All of the content is relevant and up to date. This website is growing quickly and that have a shop launching on May 19!

I hope you guys enjoyed today's post. Now more than ever before, it is important to use as many outside resources as possible while stuck at home. Many of us are not seeing our trainers or going to clinics right now, but now you can have wold class equestrian education from the comfort of your bed!

Best wishes:)
